Remote 1.5:
GM to Pioneer Remote Audio Control Interface

The REMOTE1 has now replaced our popular ALSW1, building on its award winning design, flexibility and reliability by adding compatibility with several additional head units in one compact, easy to install interface. The REMOTE1 allows control of Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer and JVC in-dash receivers and CD players via the factory steering wheel controls on all 1993 through 1999 - and select 2000 - General Motors vehicles, and on all 1996 through 2000 Chrysler Corporation vehicles (excluding 99-2000 Grand Cherokee)!

The REMOTE1 is designed to interface with the new Alpine DIN and a half, GM and Chrysler-sized receivers (CDA-D852 and 855) via the wired remote port present on the back of the Alpine receiver. The REMOTE1 can control any other Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer and JVC receiver or CD player via the head units infrared remote port.

Using a microprocessor-controlled, nonvolatile memory design, the REMOTE1 requires no programming. Simply setting a few internal switches matches the REMOTE1 for use in the desired car, the brand of the new receiver, and chooses between wired remote, or infrared remote interfacing.

All audio functions present on the factory steering wheel pushbuttons are perfectly translated into like function to control the new head unit.

The REMOTE1 connects directly to the wiring at the factory radio location via a simple four-wire connection. The unit measures a compact 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 3/4" and works in all of the vehicles listed below.
